Hybrid Designers

«Dr. Frankenstein made a monster way before there was genetic engineering, cloning, or the celebration of free-market incentives. We got it easy. Just come up with some new role, one that combines graphic design with other disciplines (law, writing, anthropology, medicine, engineering), and maybe we’ll grow accustomed to these new roles and regard them not as hybrids but as things in themselves. Maybe it won’t be so weird to have writer/designers write and design books for clients, anthropologist/designers create and design their own multicultural-training programs for corporations, or statistician/ designers crunch the numbers and design their own graphs.»
